Most of you will want to know their plans and prices, so I’ll list that first.

I could only find information about 1 distribution center which is in D.C. / Maryland area.  This is something you definitely want to consider when choosing a dvd rental plan.  If you live on the east-coast, DvdAvenue may be your best option.  If you don’t live on the east-side of the U.S., you might be wise to choose a DVD-by-mail provider that has a distribution center closer to where you live.

DVD Avenue is one of the leading names in the arena of online video rental services. It offers a total of 25,000 movie titles.  DVD Avenue offers 25,000 movie titles that are organized within 27 different categories.  DVD Avenue isn’t the biggest rental service, but has been around for a couple of years now. The website, whilst not flashy, is very functional and fast loading.
Unlike some of the smaller online DVD rental websites, DVD Avenue was polished and easy to navigate. The sign-up process consisted of filling out a four-step form and browsing the available titles couldn’t have been easier. That being said, there are a few things we would have liked to see done differently.  Very happy with my experience with DVD Avenue. A little slower than Netflix for turnaround but very reasonable.

Blockbuster US online rental service launched in August 2004 and is up there with netflix as one of the big 2 services, now offering a massive range of 75,000+ dvd’s for rental.  Some exceptional features with this service include movie critic reviews, tens of thousands of movie titles and after a free trial membership for the most popular $19.99 plan, the first month is only $9.99.
Blockbuster has set up numerous distribution points throughout the country to accomplish this faster.  Movies are usually delivered within two postal days.  Blockbuster has been playing catch up to NetFlix in the online rental game, leveraging their position as the top in-store rental company to offer some unique features that make Blockbuster a good option for those that live near a local Blockbuster store and still want the option of picking up a movie there.
When you view a particular film, they use a widget to present information about “If you like”, “Customer reviews”, and “More information” in the same space.  I was already a longtime member of the video store chain. I tried the online rentals because it was a good way to get hard to find movies through the mail while getting the kids movies at the store.

Signing up for Blockbuster Online only took a few minutes, about the same time as Netflix. The clear advantage of Blockbuster that was apparent from the start was the fact that you can rent and return your movies from the store as well as online.  To entice you to try them they offer you a 2 week trial.

Blockbuster makes it very easy if you want to rent online they will also allow you to return the movies to the store.  Total Access plans, which offers extra value by allowing you to return your DVDs to the local Blockbuster AND instantly exchange them for another movie from the store at no additional cost. Of course,  Overall, I pretty disappointed with the Blockbuster and am feeling sorely tempted to go back to Netflix once my free trial runs out.
Blockbuster Online has search capabilities that allow you to search for video games by title, genre, rating, video game console or new releases. You can also view upcoming releases.
Overall and to my surprise, Blockbuster really held up to Netflix.  It’s a shame, because I like the fact I could walk to my local store to return.  If you’re a movie enthusiast or are looking for an online movie rental service that allows you to exchange movies in the store or in the mail then Blockbuster Online is the service for you.

I haven’t stepped foot inside a video store in over five years thanks to Netflix. I’m sure they must miss me because of the late fees they no longer get from me.  Since having our daughter, we’ve been searching for the best movie renting options.  Netflix.com is a website where you can sign up to rent movies and have them mailed right to your home, you won’t get any late fees and you can keep them as long as you want.

With about 35 shipping centers across the United States Netflix offers the fastest shipping times around, giving its customers more movies for less money.  I rented the abyss from Netflix 2 years ago and still haven’t returned it! Its great because I have never been charged a single late fee, I love it!
I originally signed up for a free trial, but I loved it so much that I kept the service. I still have an account, but it’s currently inactive because I can’t currently afford the monthly fee.  The first two weeks (trial period) were excellent.

I shipped a movie on day 1, they received and sent out a new one on day 2 and I received it on day 3. What a fantastic way of catching up on movies I missed in the theater.  FF 3 months. It is taking forever for the postman to deliver my dvds. It takes them two days to receive, process and send out my new movies.  I was a happy Netflix customer for almost two years. I was happy with their selection, availability and shipping. Living about ten miles from one of their centers, I would mail back a movie and two days later, have my next. Then a year ago the service started to go downhill.
I used to rent from local video rental stores, but found their prices to be very expensive when compered to Netflix.  The movies available for streaming are extremely limited. It’s nice for the odd movie or two, but they could do better.  I would recommend Netflix on the basis that it is straight-forward, simple, and reasonably priced.  This site is very easy to navigate around and find exactly what you need, I recommend netflix.com for movie lovers, and it is a heck of a way to save money if you love to rent movies, because you won’t have to drive anywhere, just walk to your mailbox.
Netflix has a massive movie selection topping 85,000 individual titles; these are separated into 21 different genres including new releases, indies and television.  Netflix’s customer movie-rating system helped me find the absolute worst horror movies, of course. After you have rented and watched a movie, you can give it a star rating (1-5 stars).  There’s a lot more to our lives than movies and our daily schedules are so unpredictable. Now we are much more likely to have a good new movie to watch whenever we can sneak in a movie night.
The DVD’s arrive each in their own mailer with a prepaid envelope to send them back. You simply tear off the cover of the mailer, place the DVD back in the envelope when you are done viewing it, seal the envelope and place in back in the mail.  It might depend on where you live as to how fast you get the movies from each place. From my experience with netflix, it is not worth it to pay for there service.  Netflix, the online movie rental company, has just introduced its newest service: FeedFlix, a data tracker and social networking tool.
