I just don’t get it. Pardon me for being a 28 year old male without a clue but the garbage my girlfriend watches is ridiculous.
When we first started dating, I’d watch these movies with her. I gave up watching these terrible movies a while ago.
Before you start thinking that I’m some kind of tough guy who likes movies with shoot-em-up bang bang and big explosions, that’s completely wrong. I watch dramas, biographies, and a childish adult comedy every now and then. I just don’t know what my girlfriend sees in these damn romantic comedies and why she’s so foolish sometimes to think I want to watch them with her…..ever.
There are 5 kinds of movies guaranteed to always be at the theater.
- Black Movie – Something that completely tries to market itself to black people. White people won’t go to it. Black people will go to this movie by default.
- Kid Movie – Usually Pixar or Disney. Most times there’s only one of these playing at the theater at a time which means it’s going to make big money by default.
- Scary Movie – There’s always something at the theater that fits in the thriller/horror genre. These movies are usually a huge disappointment.
- Sci-Fi Movie – There’s something about robots. The future is likely involved. Expect futuristic, unrealistic weapons, different races of humans or aliens that look a lot like humans.
- Chick Flick – Shoes. Complaining about not getting laid. Talking about that time they messed around with another girl. Worrying about outfits. Jealousy and Cattiness. Picture Perfect, Desirable male who has an accent, is college educated, is rich, has 6 pack abs, knows all the right lines, driving scenes where the women are singing songs in the car, goofing around and are not paying attention to the road, heavy cell phone usage, crying, yelling, Skin Care Products, sex toy conversation, and some kind of drama at the work place. The audience is filled with women and their new boyfriends, husbands who lost a bet, and women clapping during a girl’s night out.
